The Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZR1 is a new addition to the Lumix camera line-up. The lens unit of the Panasonic ZR1 is composed of 9 lens elements in 7 groups including 4 super-thin aspherical lenses.

The Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZR1 combines great compactness with an 8x optical zoom capability. The POWER O.I.S. (Optical Image Stabilization) features double the repression power, compared with the precedent image stabilization system. The Panasonic ZR1 is excellent for capturing different events - be it a concert, festival or private party.

The Panasonic ZR1 with a 25 mm wide angle Leica DC Vario-Elmar lens is ideal for taking both broad landscapes and tight indoor shots. With the Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZR1 you can magnify and capture distant subjects with dynamic perspective. The Panasonic ZR1 allows recording high-definition video as well as uploading it to YouTube or burning it to a DVD disc. Thanks to the Extra Optical Zoom function, the zoom power can be extended up to 15.6x in 3 MP resolution mode.

The Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZR1 has a Face Recognition function, which makes it easier to organize and find photos. The Intelligent ISO Control feature helps you when shooting subjects that are often moving. The Intelligent Exposure function optimizes the exposure for each part of the picture. The Intelligent Scene Selector automatically selects whichever of 5 common scene modes – Portrait, Night Portrait, Scenery, Night Scenery or Macro – best suits the shooting situation.

The Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZR1 has a 12.1-megapixel sensor and 2.7 inch LCD. The high-speed AF lets you enjoy the airy shooting you've never experienced before. Due to the Quick AF system you can keep focus on the subject when the Panasonic ZR1 is in recording mode even before pressing the shutter button halfway.

The Venus Engine V image processor features a very fast response time. The Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZR1 with a shutter release time lag of approximately 0.007 seconds won't allow you to miss a single special moment. Working in burst shooting mode, the Panasonic ZR1 can take 2.3 shots per second at 12.1 megapixel resolution. The high quality engine of the Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZR1 extends the battery life up to 330 shots per one charge.

Use the Panasonic ZR1 to take 1920 x 1080 pixel HD photos, which ideally fit a wide-screen (16:9) HDTV for full-screen viewing.
